BIO

Gary Mayo is a singer/songwriter from McDonough, Georgia. The son of a preacher, he was raised in church as his parents spread the gospel. Inspired by his mother’s angelic singing voice, he began singing at the age of four and Gary, along with his parents, would sing hymns and gospel songs in church regularly. Singing together as a family gave Gary a solid foundation for his own music and taught him to sing harmony.

Gary has had the opportunity to sing not only with his family, but with many other groups. He once had the privilege of performing with The Lee Jessup Band at the White House during Jimmy Carter’s presidency. He continues to play with The Lee Jessup Band as well as The Mackie Creek Band and The Tyler Cullens Band.

Gary and his beautiful wife, Donna, have four children. They are also overjoyed to be grandparents. In his spare time, Gary enjoys fishing, playing golf, and writing/playing music.  A few of his favorite artists include: The Eagles, Waylon Jennings, The Beatles,  and The Doobie Brothers. A few of his favorite songs include: “Amazing Grace”, “In My Life”, “Drift Away”, and “Amie.”

Gary has written and recorded numerous songs. The inspiration for many of these songs came from his love for God and his family. He feels blessed to be able to share his music and talent with the world.
